So, I’m a returning F1 fan; I watched a bunch when Schumacher was on his streak. And then didn’t get back into it until 2020 (pandemic boredom maybe?).

What I haven’t done is seen a lot of classic races; I’ve seen footage here and there. I watched the Senna documentary. But I haven’t seen many of the “Best of” races. I was hoping some of the long-time fans would post their favorite 10 races to recommend that a fan watch for the first time. So no spoilers please.

Thanks! Added to my watch list for weekends where there’s no race

Suzuka 2005 is an all time classic so I would start there.

If you’ve managed to stay unspoiled about it, you could honestly just watch the entire 2012 season start to finish. Plenty of great races and many people hold it as their favorite ever season.

I just finished Suzuka 2005. Holy snort! That was an amazing race… those passes… goodness…

I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s a spectacular one for sure. For me, Suzuka 2005 is like a perfect benchmark/introduction to Formula 1. If someone doesn’t enjoy that race, this sport is just not for them (which is also fine, it’s not for everyone!).

Considering how terrifying passing on the outside 130R is in the simulator, I can’t imagine doing it IRL in that era F1 car. Such good racing. Thanks for the recommendation.

I know who wins WDC but I don’t know how. I’ll give it a shot.

I know its a copout, but the whole 2008 season whole 2012 season and whole 2021 season are fantastic viewing. 2010 was a close championship but a lot of of the individual races weren’t great.

Other than those, Canada 2011, Monaco 1996, Monaco 2011, Hungary 2021, Italy 2020, Italy 2021, Brazil 2021, Sakhir 2020 all come to mind.

Edit: I added 2021 to my first paragraph after including some races in my 2nd. Mb.

Tbh I think F1 is not a sport you can watch on an event basis. I would recommend to seek out a season and watch it on the off weekends. Like 2012 for example or 2009. But one race is mostly boring.
