This phone has everything that I am looking for in a <6" form factor. Its release date is June 29. Really looking forward to it!

No, for the same reason I haven’t been interested in a long time; no promises for software updates. My Zenphone 6 got 1 update.

Awww fuck. This was an instant buy for me until I read that. Maaan. Why they gotta fuck shit up like that? It doesn’t even seem like it’d be terribly hard to implement. Fuck I was so excited for a few minutes. Finally a smaller and powerful phone. And coming at a time when I am looking at replacements. ‘No Updates.’ Fucking DOA. Dammit.

I was really hyped for the Zenfone 9 since it had all the features i wanted, and the 10 seems to be just as stunning. I wouldn’t even mind paying the higher price for some unique features in a small package, but two years of updates for a flagship is a big no for me.

Got a pixel 6a instead for half the price and five years of updates, directly from the source.

See, that’s the thing for me the pixel 6a and 7a are missing several featues, most notably they have low storage space (only up to 128gb). This may be plenty for most, but it is not for me.

I don’t see myself going above 60 gigs used storage in the future anyway, mostly used for spotify downloads, so you would be right about that. But a better screen (more than 60hz), wireless charging, faster charging in general, better accessibility because of the size and button scroll feature, easier to open and replace the battery… I’m sure I could go on with features this phone had and the new one will have which were reasons for me to consider it, but the update policy for that price is just ridiculous to me.

But then again different folks different priorities.

Am comparing with the Samsung S23. Surprised to find they are same size, but main pros of Zenfone for me are the much larger battery and 3.5mm jack. Cons are sadly the software side which are the deal breaker for me and I’ll stick with samsung.

I’m glad they decided to stick with the 5.9 in variant there was a rumor there and go up to 6.3 in. I really wish ASUS would give a longer commitment to security patches. Not even necessarily OS upgrades. I don’t really care if I have the latest version of Android so much as I just want a device where I don’t have to worry about security.

Promise me at least 3 or 4 years of security patches and that would probably make the ZenFone 10 my next phone.

Who isn’t hyped for pea soup green phone with no years of support and a giant ass camera that will resolve skin pores like craters on the moon before filtering it smooth as a dolphins ass anyway. Can’t wait.

Asus needs to fix it’s software support then I’m sure a ton more users would make the switch

    I’d reconsider them personally.

    Honestly it looks pretty amazing.

The loss of microSD expansion is massively disappointing, but if they release a version with 1GB of storage I could probably go this direction. It has everything else that I want.

I have literally been calculating if the 512GB version would work for me :) Not sure if they will be releasing a 1TB version, but if so, that would be a definite purchase for me.

Honest question - why would you need such massive storage?

My perspective is that I have 64gb model. Prob 30-50% takes spotify offline sings and everything the rest for media (videos/photos). Everything is backed up and when I run out of space - I clean my local storage. I am wondering why would you need 512GB/1TB of storage?

How is LineageOS nowadays? The last time I tried (like 1 year ago), it was a massive “bugfuck” with loads of bugs, such as unable to change operator when abroad, lagging when switching recents and so on. Did not like at all.

It is heavily dependent on the build and for which phone. Im on a 2016 phone running android 13 and it is working amazingly

Tried on OnePlus 9 pro. Currently on Pixel, very happy with default experience. But yeah, I’ve heard each phone usually has a single maintainer, so it makes sense that quality is a bit low… ✌️

I’ll wait for reviews. I thought the Zenphone 9 looked really cool but didn’t review too well.

Absolutely. Tempted to sell my S23 for one. It all depends on how they handle various things, but it all sounds good so far. I’m happy with my S23 but I want to put my money where my mouth is and support a company like Asus for doing the compact flagship thing right.

Are you thinking of Motorola? Lenovo makes phones under the Motorola brand, not Asus
