At the risk of being pedantic: When Zelenskyy was offered an escape out of Kyev, he famously responded that he needed ammo, not a ride.
Supposedly, his airplane took off from Moscow and flew to St. Petersburg.
Yes, I just heard that too. It was to be expected that he wouldn’t take any risks and would rather sit it out somewhere and let others do the work.
