The RADV driver in Mesa for AMD GPUs on Linux and Steam Deck is set to get Ray Tracing turned on by default for the upcoming Mesa 23.2 release.

Raytracing is finally in a good state for AMD GPUs. Always good to hear GPU improvements for Linux!

    Now we just need AMD to step up their game when it comes to general RT performance, even Intel Arc RT seems to be better. I’ll probably upgrade to RX 8000 in the far away future, so it’s nice to see the drivers maturing.

      Yeah RT performance was definitely a blocker for me when considering AMD this generation, along with DLSS and Blender acceleration support. Hopefully they improve on those fronts with their new cards.
