The sad thing is that people have fallen for this obvious BS. The bill in question is for a reduction in packaging, and corporate responsibility for a reduction in plastic waste.

If you block the ad, the budget is assigned to another person and both FB and the advertiser benefit from you blocking it.
The best way to harm the ad is actually to interact with it (click the ad, or like and unlike it) so that FB registers your “interest” and keeps showing it to you rather than somebody else that could actually be influenced by it. Bonus : you’ll get other similar ads that you can also manipulate the same way.

Yup, but it is convincing some people to vote against their best interests in a deceptive manner. The really dystopic part is how cheap the ad is.
