The current implementation of the scaled sort algorithm in Lemmy is very similar to the new sort, with most posts having a single vote. However, I believe the intended functionality was to mirror the hot or top ranking algorithms while promoting diversity. The goal is to showcase posts from various communities without overwhelming visibility for the largest ones, yet still prioritizing highly voted posts.
How do you envision enhancing the scaled sort algorithm to achieve this balance effectively? Share your thoughts and suggestions on how we can refine this algorithm to better represent the diverse content across Lemmy communities.
Looking forward to your valuable insights and ideas!
The obvious answer is to subtract 1 before applying the scaling factor.
