          I do have sympathy for people that vote NO on large capital expense assessments because its expensive for them and then have to come up with the money anyways.

        I love how you used the entire argument against HOAs to argue against HOAs, yet still got downvoted.

          The issue some likely have is that moving to be able to have solar panels isn’t the answer. If you bought a home in the 80s, 90s the HOA likely didn’t have any rules for or against solar panels. Selling your house and moving elsewhere is a huge burden and can also be a high cost. Having to have a political movement in your neighborhood to lower costs on electricity and protect the environment a bit at the same time shouldn’t require you to allot more time and effort .
