I think it’s super creepy that anybody can just click on your profile and go to any comments and any post you ever created. Short of deleting everything after a few weeks, is there a way to just not be able to let other people do that?
You can do that on Lemmy as well. And if it wasn’t possible there would most likely be an external service providing that. These are public forums. You should use them under the assumption that everything you say can and will be used against you.
The same exists on Lemmy and most forums. Unless you’re going to create new usernames regularly, people can scroll through your post history.
You can usually make a profile private so other members can’t see your history.
For example some torrent communities have this feature available.
What are you posting that you are worried about?
Honestly. You are just not that interesting. Neither am I.
You have hundreds of comments here and I can read them all.
But I didn’t bother. You are not that interesting. (nor are the vast majority of humanity, so I am not singling you out here.)
If you don’t want people reading your posts and comments. Do not post or comment.
Lol OP, maybe make a separate account to post on c/EmmaWatsonsFeet of you don’t want people to see it.
Not even that, don’t make an account and browse the communities/subreddits manually via bookmarks.
Yeah you wouldn’t even joking. good gosh

Almost as creepy as your actual post history here.
No deleting it is the only way.
Seriously, the fact that you haven’t figured out what the fuck a burner account is tells me you’re nowhere near old enough to be near the internet on your own. Fuck off and finish your homework.
No.
“Hey, honey, it’s the episode where OP learns how the internet works!”
No, that’s an important mechanism to detect whether a user is participating in good faith. Both mods and regular users should be able to see what the comment history is of whoever they’re dealing with.
Don’t post things that you don’t want to be known to have posted and there is no problem.
No, I’ve always liked it this way. Even if you could, a search would find all your posts. In what way is this “creepy”?
