    $1000-$1500…?

    Most people are on high deductible plans, so it’s more like $3000-$5000

      That could be true, but do you have a source for that? A significant portion of people are on Medicare/Medicaid, which usually doesn’t have deductibles that high.

        My deductible is $5,000. I’ve spent a decade building up my health savings account so that I can get sick, get this, two times.

        I just lost two teeth a couple weeks ago. Didn’t cost too much, but the dentist shit all over me for not getting surgical care ten years ago. I explained that I was a single parent making zero money and that dental expenses just had to be put on hold. He changed his tone right quick.

        On the plus side, I legit thought he was still prepping my mouth when I realized he had already pulled both teeth and I was done.

        There’s a ton more work I should get done on my mouth, but I don’t know if I can afford it. Not so much financially, but in time.

        Not frequently mentioned is how much employers will frown on the time that any type of healthcare takes.
