    It will be so wild if the only reasons we manage to avoid fascism and authoritarian takeover in 2024 end up being weed and Taylor Swift.

      You know what? It’s kinda nice that it may come down to mainstream culture to bring this poison down. It just highlights how different our culture is from our politics. I’m not sure I have point.

        You do very much have a point, and it’s well made, considering that it’s just another way of pointing out that our elected representatives are completely out of touch with the majority of citizens they purport to represent. If our politics is different from our culture, it’s because our politicians are different from our people – and that should not be the case in a representative democracy.

          It would not be crazy if that was the top of the list, that should be a deciding factor, which is what will make it crazy when instead the things that push people over the edge are TayTay and her friend Mary Jane.
