You can pick anything, even ones killed by Google!
I used Google reader obsessively
Xmpp federated Google chat comes to mind. It was amazing!
another time
I miss Google reader so much. The alternatives never really won me over.
I think I just started using reddit more to consume news, most of the feeds I read were turning into complete crap by the time it closed down (looking at you gawker websites)
Google Duo/Meets. I’ve used it for years and it’s always been fairly solid for me.
Inbox was the best email client I had ever used, they killed it saying features from inbox would come to gmail… don’t think they ever got added, either that or what they did add changed so much they are no longer like what they were on inbox for me to notice.
Top 2:
- Google Reader
- XMPP based chat; being able to chat with anyone without them having to create a new account was wonderful.
- Picasa; my wife absolutely loved it.
- I loved the original Grand Central, better than Google Voice. I rarely use it, but every so often I have to give a phone number to someone and am not sure if I want them to have my real number. Now websites and companies reject the number, so not sure how much longer I will maintain it.
picasa was horrible for my tendency to label everything 😅
I found it cumbersome, but my wife loved it.
Picasa was a Windows application that you could use to organize your photos and do some editing. You could then upload to Picasa web host. It wasn’t perfect but was great for free
It’ll always be Google Play Music for me. Completely unnecesary regression.
Inbox. I miss inbox.
