hi, just wondering if I could extend the right angle cable coming from the dock- that way the ugly dock + cables could vanish in the drawer while my deck is ventilated and easily accessible on top of the lowboard.

Make sure you’re using a type-C cable that actually has the high speed pins wired up.
A lot of cheap type-C cables are only USB 2.0, which works fine for charging phones and the like but can’t do video out.
