I’ve never spent more than 2k on acquiring a car and I don’t think I ever will, whether I want to or not. Currently I do not.

Edit: apparently a ton of wealthy individuals here. No I never left oil stains anywhere and I sure as fuck couldn’t afford to smoke even if I wanted to, which I don’t. A used Honda civic lasted me well over 400k on the Odo, with some maintenance and diy oil and tire changes. Eventually the catalytic converter was stolen and I gave up as it was way above my capabilities to keep it going.

I bike now and don’t fund any of the bullshit industry tied to cars. Multiple tens of thousands simply isn’t worth it for a questionable warranty, shit dash interface with only touch screen, built in spyware, and anti right to repair with planned obsolescence as part of the design.

If warranties covered the batteries, produced by probable slave labour anyway, without the unprovable user damage voiding it or maybe just if any company would make a modern car the old fashioned, user serviceable way with no frills then would be willing to spend up to 30k tops depending on stuff™️, but car ownership is just too much of a gamble right now.
