A majority of voters in New Hampshire wrote-in Biden’s name on ballots where he did not appear officially
President Joe Biden won the New Hampshire Democratic primary, despite his name not appearing on the state’s presidential primary ballot.
The Associated Press called the race for Mr Biden shortly after polls closed on Tuesday night, as a majority of voters wrote in the president’s name.
Mr Biden’s campaign purposefully did not file the president’s name for the ballot within the deadline in an act of solidarity with the Democratic National Convention’s (DNC) decision to make South Carolina the first state to hold a primary.
Legitimately, i’m fucking glad to have a just-okay president.
Is he charismatic? No. Is he doing everything exactly the way I would have wanted? Also no. Is he doing his damn job and not helping turn politics into a reality tv shitshow? Hell fucking yes he is. I am so here for someone just shutting up and trying to do the stuff he promised. Hell, he’s actually getting a lot more done than I even expected/was hoping him to.
Multiple things are true at the same time. He’s better for humanity than his alternative, he’s not a reality show fuckwit, but doing his job is not a positive as it almost entirely entails keeping everyone firmly under the boot of capitalism. He’s made improvements within the totally broken system and also done nothing to change the totally broken system.
I am in no way glad that he’s our president but I’m glad it’s him over the orange monster.
Sorry to pick on your comment, but I have a question about a statement everyone seems to assert…
Is he charismatic? No.
(As a disclaimer I’m out of touch with people’s impressions on this)
I don’t understand this statement from everyone. Charismatic compared to what? He’s way more charismatic than most humans - he’s a career politician who manages thousands of relationships. He snaps off solid one-liners to shut down trolls. He leaned into the Dark Brandon thing. If he spent effort seeming even more charismatic, I’d be more concerned about his fitness for the job.
Put another way, I see him as having the right balance of charisma for voters aged 35+.
What are people wishing we had instead of that, in a presidential candidate?
I personally don’t expect or want anything more, but it seems a lot of people are expecting someone on the inspirational level of Obama (or Trump, if you’re talking about inspiring insurrection attempts)
Cannot wait to throw this at some voter fraud asshat’s face. “Holy shit you’re right! Look here. Biden won an election and he wasn’t even on the ballot! Talk about rigged!”

I’d forgotten all about her. I’d like to do so again.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
The Associated Press called the race for Mr Biden shortly after polls closed on Tuesday night, as a majority of voters wrote in the president’s name.
Mr Biden’s campaign purposefully did not file the president’s name for the ballot within the deadline in an act of solidarity with the Democratic National Convention’s (DNC) decision to make South Carolina the first state to hold a primary.
The DNC said those who ran Tuesday’s primary would not be awarded delegates, prompting Mr Biden’s campaign to comply.
Mr Biden’s win is likely to reassure Democrats that the president still holds support from a majority of voters in the party.
Officials will likely spend the night counting write-in votes in the Granite State to determine the exact number Mr Biden received.
Now that New Hampshire’s primary has finished, heads are turning to South Carolina, where Democrats will host a caucus.
The original article contains 367 words, the summary contains 146 words. Saved 60%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
Silly political games
The DNC said those who ran Tuesday’s primary would not be awarded delegates, prompting Mr Biden’s campaign to comply.
Congrats to Biden for winning a primary in NH after it was announced the primary meant nothing and Dems in NH have no say in their candidate because their state party leaders didn’t have time to change the state law that dictated when their primary was. Not to even mention, state party leaders don’t make state law…
There was literally no way the NH state party could have complied with the DNC’s request to move their date…
Considering his past performances in NH, this is likely the only way he was ever going to win there.

Moderates just don’t do well there, which is the real reason they can’t go first anymore and the DNC yanked their delegates this year.

People would be shitting bricks if the RNC did this to a state that always goes more liberal than the national party wants.
But the DNC doing it to a progressive state isn’t a big deal?
Considering his past performances in NH, this is likely the only way he was ever going to win there.
Against who?? He’s an incumbent president, of course he was going to win the primary. Of his 2020 opponents, Warren, Sanders and Klobuchar are on record being proud of what Biden has been able to accomplish legislatively, and all three are 100% behind him, and Buttigieg is working in his administration.
Moderates just don’t do well there
Isn’t the governor of New Hampshire a Republican? I’ve always considered New Hampshire to be a politically sane and somewhat moderate state
of course he was going to win the primary
Which makes all this bullshit so much more frustrating anyways…
Biden was always going to win this primary, so what the fuck is the point of all these shenanigans?
Is it the same as when Biden loses his temper with journalists and voters who question him?
Do we really want a president willing to do this shit in a primary election he’s all but guaranteed to win, and even if he loses, the party could still make him the candidate?
This shit isn’t rational behavior, and it’s going to depress turnout in the general when he needs it.
Of his 2020 opponents, Warren, Sanders and Klobuchar are on record being proud of what Biden has been able to accomplish legislatively, and all three are 100% behind him,
Because progressives would always prefer a moderate to a Republican…
But moderates don’t always prefer a progressive to a Republican.
Caring about the American people is a liability when you’re in a 3 way stand off with two people who have a week to live. They don’t care if they lose.
Edit:
I’ve always considered New Hampshire to be a politically sane and somewhat moderate state
They are sane…
That’s why they voted for Bernie in the 2016 and 2020 primary…
Which is why the DNC suddenly had a problem with them going first…
Do we really want a president willing to do this shit in a primary election
This shit isn’t rational behavior
WTF are you talking about?! Can you say specifically what you think Biden did here?
Dnc is a scam look what happened to bernie popular vote is just for show super delegates can vote for whoever they want and they have a majority
I’d have loved Bernie to be in the general… ever, but it just isn’t what happened and pretending it was some conspiracy just isn’t healthy. The candidate you’re in love with doesn’t always resonate with everyone else, and that’s okay.
The DNC eliminated superdelegate voting for the first round of voting in the convention back in 2017. They would only have a chance to vote if no candidate reaches 50% in the first round, aka a contested convention.
