The app flashes a light that fills the entire screen up whenever I click another tab.

Happens to me as well. You can open an issue on the Jerboa GitHub page if it does not exist yet.
Hrm… not sure what could be causing that. You might have to open an issue.
It looks a bit like the Android animation that shows when you press a button (the “highlight” effect)
Just checked, noticed this also, now I can’t unnotice it happening 😅
And now I also cannot unsee this!!
