Also, there’s something to be said about the security of a Google manufactured device and thinking your custom firmware protects you from them, however really that’s true of any device, and the security benefits of sandboxing and other features may outweigh this.

I’m pretty sure there have been stories going back years before this, but yeah that’s a good example.
The lead dev has left the project. He was responsible for pretty much all of that. Presumably that is why.
