redstone newbie here, my old design closes too early so i created this ugly contraption. I have a feeling that improvements are possible, but not sure how. please advise

some sidegrade (or even downgrade, depending on how risk averse u are) issues: if you approach from the right side(side with signs), only part of the door will work) this is confusing, does shulker output different signals depending on the direction from which you are approaching it?)
There are a lot of examples out there. Do a search for “2x2 Redstone door”.
some slight modifications later… now i have (1) A calibrated version that only picks up player/mob movement noises (2) A quieter and more compact version
