Hello all, I’ve only used lemmy on mobile so far there has been a million and one posts about apps for lemmy for mobile. My plan was to lurk and read something about pc lemmy, and set it up, but I haven’t found any. What can I use on desktop to browse lemmy?
I know that I can just type my instance and have lemmy, but I wont be able to post in private, defederated, etc. communities. Even so if my instance is down, I’d be just locked out.
So basically my wish is to port whatever I have on mobile to pc. A multi-instance & multi-account lemmy client, bonus points if it has a bunch of features, like blocking, or if it’s pretty, but that goes without saying. Even a link to a same, but older, question will help, Thanks in advance.
Did you try https://lemmyapps.netlify.app/ filtering on “Web”? Some websites like Photon should fit your need
this. I had a feeling some of yall made a guide website. This all is in the deepweb, that’s the problem. Thanks, will try some from this database.
I finally got around to checking the offers out, I’ll use Photon. Thank you for this collection.
Happy to help!
Or even ‘Linux’, if you want a native app.
Perhaps I’m missing some detail here but…
Open Firefox, install the containers addon, open an instance you have an accout with in a new container, and sign in. Label that container specifically for the url of that instance. Repeat for every instance you have an account with.
never used that addon before, could work. Something I failed mentioned, but tryied to hint at is that the default Lemmy looks bad imo. And hotswitching accounts are cool. While default lemmy lacks features, like some apps count your “score”, how cool’s that?
You can use the Stylus browser extension to install themes from userstyles.org and customise how Lemmy (or a bunch of other sites) look
This is why I default to kbin on desktop. If someone could make lemmy.world look like kbin.social, that’d be great.
Voyager and alexandrite. Both can be installed as webapps and allow multiple accounts. I mostly use voyager because I am familiar with having used it on mobile. Alexandrite looks very pretty (IMO).
I use Alexandrite and Voyager. Just install them as a webapp on PC
