Members of the hardline House Freedom Caucus are pushing to cut spending to a fiscal 2022 level of $1.47 trillion, $120 billion less than President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy agreed to in their May debt ceiling compromise.

With Republicans also seeking higher spending on defense, veterans benefits and border security, analysts say the hardline target would mean cuts of up to 25% in areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, science, commerce, water and energy, and healthcare.

Just make those cuts from the military budget? Lol but that’s not what they mean when they complain about out of control spending

We can’t do that, we need to replace everything we sent to Ukraine!

Obligatory: I’m not against supporting Ukraine, but you have to admit that it’s a very nice for them that there’s a war going on. It allows all of those countries to get rid of their old stocks of equipment that they’ve had no justification to replace. I think military spending will only increase.

How 'bout we just stop sending any money at all to red states. They are a huge drain on the normal states. They take and take and take while bitching endlessly about people who take. Fuck 'em. Cut them off.

They’ve not the power to do so without the self proclaimed “pragmatic moderate” Republicans, which shall Vote as they are told since they’re terrified of the fascists.
