I just used temp-number.com to receive a verification code (no cell towers where I live). I was shocked to see that someone had sent their Bitcoin wallet info to the service.
I got their username, password and verification code. Their account is worth over 60BTC. That’s over $2,000,000.
No I did not steal from them, but holy cow I can’t believe how incredibly stupid that is.
So be mindful when using these, they’re fully open to the public to read.
I doubt it was a real wallet - most likely it was just a scam exchange that would prompt you to send cryptocurrency “for verification” before you could try to withdraw them.
The idea was already exploited on prnt.sc, where it is possible to try bruteforce screenshot ID and find other users public screenshots - https://splashdot.github.io/scam1/
Definitely sounds like a scam.
If it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably a scam.
That’s a really creative scam, I respect that.
I’ll save you some time:
Probably tries to get you to buy VIP for some “small fee” or whatever. There’s not even account settings as far as I could see.
For those curious, this is in fact the account I found.
