When I see comments like this I always have to wonder… so, you don’t oppose the government using it’s resources to support the well-being of it’s citizens. So then what is making you conservative? Your desire to oppose other fundamental rights and liberties of others? Wanting corporations to continue to steal from the wealth of the many for the sake of unimaginable wealth for the few? A fear of others who freely exist with other values then your own and the inability to cope with their success? Or thrive in their perils as a way to compensate for the inadequacies you feel in your own life? The desire to maintain the status quo of women and minorities being subservient to old white men? To control other people’s bodies or worrying an unhealthy amount about their genitals and what they do with them?

What a strange ignorant take on things. Nice strawman. Nothing you said has anything to do with conservatism

So… what exactly is conservatism to you then? Because what they listed is things most current American conservatives would agree with.

Yep. I agree. There use to be conservative democrats and liberal republicans.

          Now both parties suck.

Neither one is really doing anything good for the people. If he had read my posting history, he’d notice I’m pro-choice. Republicans are going taliban with abortion and democrats are doing nothing to protect it at all federal level.

          Both parties suck right now.

Yeah, but that means what they’re doing isn’t a dealbreaker for you. So you may not agree with them cutting funds from education, cutting taxes on the wealthy and corporations, voting no on providing free school lunch, or taking away abortion rights, but it doesn’t bother you enough to change your vote.

So why would they change what they’re doing? It’s clearly working for them in a lot of places.

Edited to add: Democrats don’t have the votes to pass abortion rights at the federal level.

I like how you tell me what I am supposed to think and then rattle off a silly argument.

I have clearly stated I’m not voting for anyone who isn’t pro-choice. So please; tell me how that didn’t change my vote?

Okay, so it sounds like given the present situation you are abstaining to vote, voting third party, or are voting democrat until republican leaders get their nonsense together. That said, what exactly is it that makes you identify as conservative? Clearly it has to be something outside of present American political theater. Is it one of those ‘fiscal responsibility’ things? It seems like you are fine with social programs.

It says a lot about you that you think feeding children should be controversial.

As long as it’s healthy, I see little to argue about. If it’s junk food then I see where anyone should have an issue with it. That’s just sending tax payer money to corporate interest.

Healthy, local food there isn’t much to debate in my opinion

Look i realize you’re getting questioned here so you got defensive but I’m literally just asking what your conservative values are. We agree that feeding children is incontroversial but the republican leaders do not seem to agree and you’ve made a few claims as to your positions in the thread that seem to continue tbe trend of misaligning with American conservative leaders. Just tell me what your priorities are generally that don’t align with democrats because so far you sound like a dem. The floor is yours. Make me have more understanding of conservatives values.
