    It’s kinda ironic that all the source parts links are for Amazon in order to build a device which doesn’t use Amazon, but I suppose that’s just the most readily available resource :-)

    Great concept though. I honestly hate most “smart” doorbells but a homebrew one sounds like a cool idea

    Hey, this is excellent. I was looking to do something like this a few months ago. Bought a few ESP devices to mess with, but never got around to it. I might try it out now, though, using your guide. Thank you!

    Fun stuff, although I wonder how weather proof this would be — my door bell is outside, with nothing in terms of shielding from the elements.

    I also liked the pi-as-a-travel-router, that gave me a solid idea!

      If you can get your hands on one, a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W with the official Pi Camera Module 3 is a great solution but it lacks the ESPHome integration.
