I’ve been watching Deep Space nine for almost 30 years and I have literally just noticed that these lights aren’t flashing beacons but are in-fact two people working on the exterior of the pylon.
I believe they only showed up after the later seasons when they refreshed the intro
They do from season 4. But all this time I thought they were just beacons of some kind.
Maybe has something to do with the DVD quality video at the time?
DVD quality? I watched them on a 13 inch crt back in the day. DVD quality was like 4K by comparison.
Someone told me that those guys were adding all the weapons that Sisko pulls off in a confrontation with the ?Klingons?
Like it’s a subtle foreshadowing that pays off when he’s like “we’ve had people working nonstop for months on upgrades”.
But this is a hazy memory and may be made up.
Damn cardies don’t maintain their shit
Fuckin spoonheads
And the fact that they are MASSIVE when compared to the scale of the station.
I always laughed at the size of the hull fragment they’re reattaching. Do pieces of the station randomly fall off?
It was often portrayed as kinda junky so it wouldn’t surprise me if random shit just fell off all the time lol. O’Brien’s level of general frustration would support it
The new busy intro was introduced in season 4, with “The Way of the Warrior.” They’re probably repairing battle damage or adding armor.
Gotta take the cover off to prod at the bits underneath sometimes
I guess they had to do something comparable to the person/people in the observation window for TNG intro. Adding people or activity in a scene is the next jump up from greeble to add realism.
Wonder if they’re talking to each other, like: “Hey, after we’re done with this want to go to Quarks?” “Nah, I ran out of- ah!” “What is it?” “The panel accidentally fell off. Damn Cardies.”
How cool! Never noticed myself
