a 2x2 grid describing different types of homophobes:

Knows and Doesn’t care: “[There is no record of this comment]”

Knows and Cares: “Gay people make me uncomfortable and I should work on that”

Doesn’t know and Doesn’t care: “HOW IS THAT HOMOPHOBIC?!”

Doesn’t know and Cares: “That’s homophobic? I’m sorry, I’ll do better next time!”

Was talking about homophobia with someone yesterday and saw this chart in my mind and I thought u guys would like it :3 I know this applies to many things outside of sexuality/gender/etc and even outside of hate so maybe I should have made it more general :p But whatevs, feel free to edit and repost, it’s just lines and text X3

Seeing removed comments is something that I’ve experienced a lot less, almost not at all, since being on Lemmy and especially Blahaj Lemmy.

You guys, gals and enby pals are the best <3

Missing a category which will give us two more outcomes:

    Isn’t homophobic and doesn’t care

    Isn’t homophobic and does care

“Doesn’t know that isn’t homophobic and doesn’t care” Aw those two guys are such best friends, I love how they take care of each other and even live together.

“Doesn’t know that isn’t homophobic and does care” Wait you’re saying guys can like other guys??? I’ve been missing out!

I think this would muddle op’s assumption here, which seems to be that anyone who disagrees with him either has ill intent or is ignorant

Try this for formatting, to help readability

Knows & Doesn’t care: “[There is no record of this comment]”

Knows & Cares: “Gay people make me uncomfortable and I should work on that”

Doesn’t know & Doesn’t care: “HOW IS THAT HOMOPHOBIC?!”

“how is that homophobic?” Doesn’t mean that someone doesn’t care. Depending on inflection it could be an expression of incredulity because they just don’t understand.

What would be better in the bottom left would be

    scoffs That’s not homophobic.
