The topic of gas stoves ignited a heated debate last year when a Biden appointee suggested they could be banned because they posed a risk to human health.
But a ban isn’t in the works — and this week the administration will finalize a scaled-back plan to make new stoves less energy-intensive.
Seems like a similar strategy as the EU’s energy standards, though probably behind in terms of net efficiency.
The main issue with gas stoves is that they’re used to sell gas furnaces. We need stop building new gas-fueled homes before we start sunsetting gas stoves. Also the fact that induction stoves are so expensive in the US is a serious issue that needs to be solved first.
lol, they’ll talk about anything except a carbon tax
The current congress has one house run by Republicans, so they can’t pass a carbon tax. So they’re working the regulatory system instead.
Why do you think republicans would work with democrats to limit/regulate natural gas appliances?
I don’t. Congress already granted the President authority to issue efficiency regulations like this one, so they can’t stop it.
Sounds like my man JB is looking for votes. Hopefully he gets them or the next guy will gut these regs
