This came out of a bike group I am part of. At least there are plenty of great ice cream places in and around the city.

I probably would stop in Bellevue on a bike ride if it wasn’t so awful and clearly car dependent.

I was wondering why NYC wasn’t included in the list, then I saw this

New York was not included in this longitudinal study because the high number of cyclists and lanes would have overwhelmed their models

      😂

Whenever I biked around Brooklyn I definitely felt safer in the protected bike lanes. I’ve always assumed that the people that bike around in Manhattan, especially Midtown, have a death wish. Biking down the narrow and packed streets in Park Slope was enough for me, biking down 5th Ave during rush hour was about as good as walking.

It’s strange when businesses literally shoot themselves in the foot like this. They could have said nothing. I have a bunch of gas stations near me and I stopped going to the ones that put their political opinions on road diets up. It’s already obvious a gas station doesnt want bike lanes but now I go to the ones who stay quiet about it.

Semi private but there’s also the Seattle bike group on discord where I think this was also discussed.
