I found this move in a game I played yesterday. I’m still improving my chess, so I’m glad that I found this move in a 10 minutes game, even though I realized afterwards that I could have played this the previous move already.

        That wins material too, but why take the Rook by playing Nb6+ when you can win the Queen by Nf6+ ?

            Nxf6+ is probably the engine choice but, depending on the elo, I think Nb6+ is a more difficult position to handle for white and they could end up losing even more material.

            For example, Nb6+ Qf7 blocking. The thought process being “if I’m going to lose my queen then I’d rather get a bishop for it than a knight”. Naturally, they forget that you capture the queen with check and after they retake you have Nxa8

            That would probably only work up to about 1300 though. Still worth a try imo since you are winning either way.

    Nb6+, Kh8, Nxa8 or Nf6+, Kh8, Nxd7, Bxd7?

    But I don’t see a winning move, am I missing something?
