PayPal has been doing this shit for decades. Y’all remember when if you were involved in a payment dispute they’d put a hold on your entire linked back account? Or when you contacted customer support they told your to wait # amount of days before filing a complaint? And then when you did they told you to contact the seller because lol fuck you? It’s almost like the CEO was a raging asshole or something.
Yup. Among the victims VideoDownloadHelper Addon. They don’t accept Paypal donation anymore.
They are altering the deal. Pray they don’t alter it any further.
You add your card thinking you can remove it at any time
PayPal: “All too easy.”
Add another card, in my case I used a virtual card, then you can remove that card. If you use a virtual card you can invalidate that card when you’re done.
I tried it already. Still not working. Tried to chat with customer support, but they only open at 8am. It’s around midnight here.
Paypal has altered the deal. Pray they do not alter it further.
They locked my account and are holding my funds for 6 months.
Some people in this comment section would probably find a way to blame it on you lol.
They did this to me decades ago and I ended up having to get a new card so the old one would no longer work. I haven’t used paypal since. Fuck them.
I mean I wouldn’t allow you either, that card is magnificent and the fact the picture shown online is not a generic card is more magnificent. Removing it from anywhere should be a sacrilege.
Side note, would recommend considering a bank that doesn’t support the fossil fuel industry. Sadly, Chase is among the worse offenders.
Are there any banks that don’t support the fossil fuel industry?
I contacted my bank just to make sure. This YouTube video talks more about it & the description some resources to help you find an alternative. I’ll provide the creator’s recommended links here too:
Atmos, a bank that actively funds climate solutions.
mighty deposits guide, let’s you browse Eco friendly banks.
bankforgood, also let’s you browse for banks. Don’t think you need to add your personal information to search even though it asks to.
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):
Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.
I’m open-source; check me out at GitHub.
Report the card as lost and they will issue a new one with a new number.
I had the same issue with Google Workspace. Could not terminate my subscription until I “deleted all apps”, and apps list was empty. My pre-cancelled tier did not have customer support privileges.
I had to cancel my credit card and have been getting warnings about being sued if I don’t add a working payment card.
I’m sorry but WTF is a Star Wars credit card? And why?
I have this card.
I’m an immigrant to the US by way of marriage. When I moved here we opened an account at chase where my now wife banks - a joint for us both and one for me.
When faced with having three near identical blue cards I asked if there was any option other than blue
Imagine my face when I heard possibly the most American phrase I’ve ever heard: “You can have the brand colors, or Disney”
Hilarious!
For buying large moon sized weapons and getting points
Fair enough
It’s a Chase debit card. Just has Star Wars branding on it.
It was free. So why not?
You have to buy a card in USA?
No, they mean the customization of the card was free.
Not “buy”, but sometimes there’s an annual fee to use the card, or other fees besides the interest rate.
Even outside the US, I pay a one time fee when I have to replace my card (Usually either lost or no longer working). It’s not that bad, only a one time charge of 7,50 automatically withdrawn from my debit account.
Ah that makes sense. Wouldn’t’ve been surprised if u had to though
because stupid jedis keep shooting a hole in your aesthetically designed weapon of planetary destruction
I mean yeah I guess a bug is clearly mildly infuriating. But it’s also a bug. And the way your title is phrased, it’s like PayPal is intentionally preventing you from removing your card. Which it doesn’t seem to be pointing to here. Like I could imagine if they don’t want to let you have no cards on your account without completely closing the account. But the message would say something like that. Like "you’re required to have at least one valid card on your account. " The message isn’t just going to say something like “please try again later” unless its a bug. That’s just telling you that a bug happened and you may need to contact customer support to resolve it.
Why would you be so sure it’s not intentional?
In my country insurances won’t let you buy one that is necessary-to-drive by adding such “bugs” and impossible captchas for newbie drivers and motorcyclists. Works like a charm in a court - they just say it was a bug
PayPal is notorious for displaying meaningless errors for just about everything, even when it is intentional. Might not be the case here, but they definitely do things like this.
Though if I had to put my money on it, if it isn’t a bug it’s an anti fraud measure of some sort.
I worked for them. I’ve seen their list of error code reasons. Literally one of the error codes you could get was labelled as ‘WTF happened?’ on the list.
‘Too many buckets’ was another one, that one made me laugh tbh.
But they literally have like a 12+ page document of error codes and what they mean. The system is pretty buggy.
But generally our solution was, clear cache and cookies or try a different browser. It 75% of the time worked. If that didn’t work, customer service could remove cards for you.For me, PayPal said nothing until I called them. I made an expensive purchase via PayPal, they bounced it back with no notification that it was bounced back whatsoever, making it a headache for me and the seller. I had to make sure that it wasn’t going out twice, which thankfully it didn’t but the lack of an error message or anything was so unhelpful.
I just used my card straight-up after that. The card was under Visa, so it was subject to Visa’s checks as well as the bank’s own (where you can use SMS or app-based verification).
Because… What they gain by not allowing to remove the card? Nothing.

Lol. PayPal wanted me to jump through more hoops than my bank when my legal name changed after I got married. I literally provided them with documentation and they wanted me to send them a physical notarized official copy of my marriage license.
Call them
Don’t wanna. I hate talking to customer support. I guess it’ll work after a while.
I hate talking to customer support more than most but this would be solved almost immediately if you just called. The only thing mildly infuriating here is your own obstinance.
Right. Never mind that it’s a company whose whole deal is handling finance and it fails to do basic shit like this. It’s my fault that I don’t wanna waste half an hour talking to call center employees who will keep mindlessly repeating bullshit.
Also, just checked.
Customer Service Hours
6:00 AM PT to 6:00 PM PT Monday through Sunday
Never mind that it’s a company whose whole deal is handling finance and it fails to do basic shit like this
So bugs aren’t allowed to happen as it’s related to finance, which is this company’s main area, because otherwise they’re incapable of handling these matters?
Honestly, yes. And if they do, I shouldn’t be blamed for being bummed about it.
I worked for them a few years ago.
Try using a browser, if that doesn’t work, clear the cache and cookies and try again. If it still doesn’t work, try a different browser (the one they’d usually recommend was Firefox). If that doesn’t work, customer service should be able to remove it for you.The system is dumb, the security system is automated and did weird shit at times. One of the error codes in the document we had was labelled as ‘WTF happened?’
So yeah. PayPal are kinda wang sometimes.Well, that’s certainly an interesting perspective you got there. Can’t really agree fully but to each their own I guess.
Best of luck getting this resolved
Bugs happen man. Software and technology is not perfect. Sometimes it requires human intervention like customer support. I understand. It’s frustrating that they have business hours. But would you rather deal with some random dude who can’t actually do anything for you because they’re so limited? Cuz that’s what a lot of 24-hour customer service lines are. It Is just some person who is just there to placate you and escalate your problem to someone who can actually do something about it. Or would you rather just wait? I mean you actually said
I guess it’ll work after a while.
Which seems pretty obvious Indication that you don’t have a problem waiting to resolve this even though you want it resolved now.
So, what’s your point? That I shouldn’t complain? Cuz that’s exactly what I’m doing here. It’s not like I’m standing with pitchforks in front of their office.
Forcing someone to use a different form of media to get acceptable support for your product is pretty bullshit. If I can sign up for, pay for, and use your product for years without a telephone, I shouldn’t suddenly be forced to use a phone to get support.
Even if that might be the best solution at this point, it’s still garbage and something to justifiably complain about, especially considering it’s mildly infuriating we’re talking about.

what cunt?

just certain that there are many reasons someone wouldn’t want to call a service centre, and being shitty to someone ain’t gonna help
or is saying ‘ain’t’ too incorrect for you fuck wit.

You come in saying shit and are surprised when people call you a fuckwit, then try to say they are triggered?
Kinda a fuckwit thing to do really.
