that’s really cool, they really need more features for their VPN in order to not be just a more expensive mullvad

How does it work though? Do I need to have Mozilla VPN installed on my machine? As far as I know, it’s not available as an add-on

      Edit: this explains it

    • We’ve reduced the overhead of using performance.mark() and performance.measure() APIs with a large set of performance entries.
    • Plus, we’ve modified paint suppression during load to greatly improve warmload performance in Site Isolation mode.
    • You’ll also notice a small reduction in Javascript memory usage. With this release, you’ll notice faster Javascript property enumeration as well.
    • We’ve also implemented better scheduling of garbage collection which has improved some pageload benchmarks.
    • This release also sees reduced CPU usage during socket polling for HTTPS connections. Additionally, you’ll notice faster storage initialization.
    • We’ve also improved cold startup by reducing main thread I/O.
    • Plus, closing devtools now reclaims more memory than ever before.
    • And we’ve improved pageload (especially with Site Isolation mode) by setting a higher priority for loading and displaying images.

    Wow, that’s cool!

Why are colorways only limited? It looks like a super cool feature, why remove it?

they’re probably just testing to see how popular this’ll be, hopefully they make it a permanent feature

I wonder if (consciously or unconsciously) they’re working towards some big stuff for version 100.

well, out of all features they have been working for the last few years that I’m aware of the only thing left to come to stable in some form is webGPU, but I don’t think that’ll be ready in time for version 100

      It absolutely is.

It’s the only REAL competitor to Google’s Blink engine’s monopoly, with Apple’s webkit having a bigger marketshare but being considerably worse both for users and developers, and with the most recent update adding the new Fission sandboxing and quite a bit of perfomance improvements it goes closer and closer to being toe to toe with Chromium both in security (and much better when it comes to privacy).

Chromium is the open source browser project by Google, on which Chrome and many others (Opera, Edge, Brave, Bromite, etc) are based.
