No citations. All you have to go on is the word of Newsweek, which doesn’t hold much credibility with me and many others.
What is this article even about? All it seems to talk about is spycraft techniques with a cliclbait headline. Admittedly I stooped reading after I realized it was just a bunchabunk.
it’s not just Newsweek reporting it https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/pentagon-secret-army-soliders-congress-b1849963.html
according to Newsweek
according to Newsweek
From the second paragraph.
I’m not denying the pwntagon has a secret army, I just thought all of this was accepted as their SOP for quite some time now.
Interesting to see such a scepticism in this. Now can people start to apply that to when every Western news site quotes Adrian Zenz about Xinjiang?
Well the whole thing is a leak and the Independent contacted state department for comment, given there’s no comment that seems to basically confirm it.
A leak with no leaked documents, just the word of some guy that Newsweek says is a credible source. Given Newsweek’s history of publishing complete bullshit, I would not put it past them making this up, or at least being duped into publishing it.
Given what we know about CIA and the Pentagon, I’d say this tracks pretty well actually.
So because USA is evil that means take Newsweek’s word for all this? Theyve been a tabloid rag for decades now why the hell should they be trusted?
I’m not saying we should just take Newsweek’s word for it, but it’s something to keep an eye on because it fits the pattern of what US has been doing. Also, I’m not really familiar with what makes Newsweek more of a rag than most western media. You seem to have particular hate for them.
I have a particular hate for any media company that uses sensationalized clickbait headlines and non stories. Maybe you should stop posting their articles so much.
That’s basically all of western media.
And so I don’t see what makes Newsweek special here. They report stuff, and sometimes it’s bullshit. So, you just have to use your judgment on how likely the story is.

One such program was alluded to in a little noticed document dump published by Wikileaks in early 2017 and called “Vault 7”: over 8,000 classified CIA tools used in the covert world of electronic spying and hacking. It is called ExpressLane, where U.S. intelligence has embedded malware into foreign biometrics and watchlist systems, allowing American cyber spies to steal foreign data.
